1. Stealth Floor Safe Mechanical Lock B5000 (Our Choice)

Dimensions12″ Long by 35 5/8″ Wide by 17″ Deep
Weight125 pounds

You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t ever heard of Stealth as a safe manufacturer, however they are a smaller, yet quickly growing brand that creates some awesome safes for the price. This safe in particluar is a USA made example, and it is quite large for a floor safe.

If you are looking to fit quite a bit of gear, or valuables into your floor safe, this is an awesome option for you. Not to mention the body is made from 12 gauge steel, and the door is a whopping 1/2″ steel plate (quite impressive).

You of course want to have a high quality locking mechanism on your safe, and this one has that with an S&G Mechanical Lock with relockers, and a hard-plate between the exterior and the internal lock.

I really do like this safe, it offers plenty of security, high quality components, and has tons of space (for a floor safe that is).

2. Protex IF-2500C Floor Safe

Dimensions12 3/4″ Long 14 1/8″ Wide by 17 1/2″ Deep
Weight90 pounds

If you liked the Stealth safe above, but wish you had a smaller option, then this Protex is an awesome alternative. Protex is a company that isn’t quite as well known in the residential safe world, as they are more known for their cash deposit boxes, and other commercial products.

However, this floor safe would be right at home in, well… your home. With a 1/2″ steel door, spring loaded relockers, and a name brand LaGard mechanical lock, this is an awesome little floor safe that you should definitely consider.

This safe is also equipped with a plate that goes over top of it, so you can lay things like rugs over top of it, and keep the safe hidden from sight.

3. Barska AX12656 Floor Safe

Dimensions8″ Long by 15″ Wide by 5″ Deep
Weight16.5 Pounds

If you need a floor safe, and need to stay on a budget, this Barska is a fantastic option! While it may not be the thickest steel in the world (only 16 gauge steel), this would work fantastic if you are hoping to keep something safe, that may not have a high dollar amount, value wise.

This key operated safe has a carpeted bottom, so that you can throw items in there while being comfortable knowing they won’t be getting damage in there.

Keep in mind with this safe though, while it is a floor safe, it is an inexpensive one, with thinner steel and a lesser locking mechanism. It should only be purchased with that in mind.

4. Amsec C5 Floor Safe

Dimensions8.75″ Wide/Long by 13.5″ Deep
Weight48 pounds

While most of the safes on this list utilize a square body style, this Amsec C5 (not the Corvette) utilizes a tube style design. This makes it so nothing gets lost in the corners of the safe, and everything is always easy to remove.

This also plays a hand in making it so there are not any weak points throughout the safe, no matter what corner (or lack there of) you attack.

On top of its design, the C5 offers a high end mechanical lock, which protects its 1 and 3/4″ steel body (yes, you read that right). All of these features work together to make this a high quality, and high security safe that is not surpassed by many others on this list.

5. Barska AX13200 Floor Safe

Dimensions13.25″ Long by 14.75″ Wide by 12.25″ Deep
Weight87 pounds

One of the biggest pitfalls of many floor safes, is how difficult it can be to add something to the safe. First you have to remove the cover, get into the safe, and then you can finally add items to it.

However, with this Barska, they have included a drop slot that makes it just a bit easier to add paper and thin items to the safe without having to utilize the high quality combo lock.

This 9 gauge steel safe is heavy duty, while still maintaining a value oriented price point (that Barska is known for).

If you are looking for a great floor safe under $500, this should be on your short list.

6. Hollon B2500 In Ground Safe

Dimensions14 9/10” Long by 13 1/2 Wide by 17 1/2”Deep
Weight93 pounds

Much like many other brands on this list, Hollon is not super well known in the residential safe world, but they are a fantastic brand, that makes some great safes.

This 93 pound B2500 floor safe offers a 1/2″ steel door, relocker devices, and the door is backed up by a hardplate to make it harder to drill through.

You can easily get into the safe via its mechanical lock, which has an external relocker that will lock out the safe if it is tampered with.

7. Stealth Floor Safe B1500

This is one of the few awesome electronic lock floor safes on this list! If you are needing a quick access safe, that is still in the floor, this should be one to consider. Electronic locks are considerably quicker and easier to use, however they do have concerns around reliability.

This B1500 safe by Stealth offers a 12 gauge body, with a 1/2″ steel door, and a UL rated electronic lock backed up with relockers and a hard plate.

At 73 pounds, this safe is definitely hefty, however, let’s be honest, you are putting this into concrete, so you won’t be carrying it around much.

How do you install a floor safe?

Floor safes are a great way to keep your valuables safe and out of sight. But how do you go about installing one?

The first step is to choose the location for your safe. It’s important to pick a spot that is out of plain view and not too close to any windows or doors. Once you’ve selected the perfect spot, the next step is to cut a hole in the floor. The size of the hole will depend on the size of your safe, but it should be large enough to allow for easy installation.

Once the hole is cut, it’s time to lower the safe into place. This can be done with a helper, or you can use a wheeled dolly to make things easier. Once the safe is in position, it’s time to secure it to the floor. This is typically done with concrete screws or anchor bolts.

With a little bit of effort, you can have a floor safe that will keep your valuables safe and sound for years to come.

How do you install a floor safe into concrete?

First, use a hammer drill to create a hole in the floor for the safe. Next, insert a masonry anchor into the hole and screw it into place. Once the anchor is secure, place the safe into the hole and fasten it down with concrete screws.

Finally, mix up some quick-setting concrete and pour it into the hole around the safe. The concrete will help to further secure the safe in place and prevent it from being tampered with. With these steps, you’ll be able to install a floor safe in concrete quickly and easily.

How do you hide a floor safe?

When it comes to hiding a floor safe, there are a few tricks of the trade that can help to keep your valuables out of sight. One common method is to conceal the safe behind a false wall or false bottom in a closet.

This can be achieved by removing a section of drywall or floorboard and replacing it with a panel that conceals the safe. Another option is to build the safe into an existing piece of furniture, such as a bookcase or cabinet. This can be a bit more challenging, but it provides an extra layer of security by making it difficult for thieves to even know that the safe exists.

Whatever method you choose, remember that the best way to hide a safe is to make it as difficult as possible for someone to find.
