TOP 5 Best Vault Doors on a Budget under $2500 [Updated for 2022]

We may get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Thanks for the support!

Vault doors are for those people that can’t fit everything into a gun safe. They also work great as storm doors, and panic rooms. However vault doors also tend run run quite a bit more than a gun safe.

This list of my top rated safes on a budget keep all of the options under the $2500.00 mark! Customizations and shipping may put them over, but its a good start for your shopping!

Table of Contents
  • 1. Snapsafe Vault Door
  • 2. Ironman Vault Doors
  • 3. VaultPro Professional
  • 4. Sportsman Steel Armory Vault Door
  • 5. Homeland Vault Door Level II
  • Conclusion

1. Snapsafe Vault Door

This entry level vault door by Snapsafe is quite the value. At just a little over $1000 it is also the cheapest.

The vault door comes in both 36″ and 32″ versions for the same price (I guess that makes sense). It has a decent steel thickness of 12 gauge, and comes in in-swing versions only.

Snapsafe uses a UL listed lock with a key backup just in case the lock fails for any reason.

This is a great option to be used as a storm door, or a vault door that doesn’t protect a ton of valuables. If you want to protect a higher amount of valuables, there are probably better more secure options out there.

Pros

  • Relatively inexpensive
  • Easy to install (as easy as it gets)
  • Lifetime Warranty

Cons

  • Not USA made
  • Thinner steel than most competitors
  • No fire rating
See Price: Snapsafe Vault Doors

2. Ironman Vault Doors

Ironman safes builds all of their units in the USA. This is the same for their vault doors! These doors are a great value with 1/4″ steel plates, a fire rating (this is rare-ish in the vault door business), and a S&G mechanical lock.

While not a flashy option, this door gets the job done, and does it well! At a decent amount under the $2500 its a great value!

Pros

  • Fire rating
  • USA made
  • Multiple sizes to choose from

Cons

  • Aesthetics are a bit lacking

3. VaultPro Professional

VaultPro is a well known name in the security business. They build some pretty ridiculous safes that are both huge and weird.

However they also build some awesome value products like the Vault Pro Professional Vault door.

The door has 1/4″ steel door, and frame, is customizable with paint, hardware, and includes a limited lifetime warranty!

The 80″ x 30″ version starts at under $2190.00 which earns it an easy spot on this list of vault doors to check out.

The door also includes a fire rating of 40 minutes at 1550 degrees

Pros

  • A great way to start off in a very reputable brand
  • Fire rating

Cons

  • No exact pricing online
  • Can’t be ordered online
See Price: VaultPro Vault Doors

4. Sportsman Steel Armory Vault Door

This vault door is special mainly because its fire rating is pretty crazy. At a 6000 degree concrete door it should withstand quite a bit!

It also includes an S&G name brand lock, 14 locking bolts, and a lifetime & fire warranty which is pretty awesome.

With tons of customizations, and price point of $2095 (starting price) it puts itself up there with the Vault Pro vault doors.

Pros

  • Crazy concrete fire rating
  • Great locking mechanism
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Available bullet proofing

Cons

  • Crazy heavy
See Price: Sportsman Steel Vault Door

5. Homeland Vault Door Level II

This vault door is a favorite, they are producing a great vault door starting at $1799.00. This is a USA built door featuring 14 locking bolts, an S&G lock, a respectable fire rating of 45 minutes at 1500 degrees, and customizable features its quite the steal (steel).

Only thing that worries me here, is that I wasn’t able to find the steel thickness of the door.

Pros

  • Great price for USA made vault door
  • Good locking mechanism
  • Has fire rating
  • 10 gauge steel

Cons

  • Wasn’t able to find steel thickness

Conclusion

There are so many vault doors out there, most gun safe manufacturers are starting to get into the vault door game. However these should be a great start for most people.

The Snapsafe Vault Door is the cheapest of them all, and honestly will probably work for most people’s purposes. However all of these would be a great choice. Just make sure each has the features you need.
