Ford just announced the specs for their 7.3 liter V8 monster of an engine. This engine will come standard on new F-550, F-600, F-650 and F-750 Medium Duty trucks and E-Series, as well as F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis. It is going to optional on the F-Series Super Duty.

This engine also comes with an all new 10 speed automatic transmission.

With this transmission, the engine has an output of 430 hp at 5,500 rpm, and torque of 475 feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. While these may not be as monstrous as the engine sounds, it is still best in class and a welcome addition to the Ford engine family.

This engine will be an option on the new Tremor series F-Series Super Duty. Might be worth looking into! Now… if only they could fit it into the Mustang (just kidding).

My thoughts? I’m just happy Ford doesn’t use Cam Phasers anymore.
