If you are much like most people, you probably either don’t know how to make a good cup of pour over coffee, or you just don’t want to go through the hassle. However pour over coffee is delicious, especially in a quality product like a Chemex. For people like this (including me regularly) there would be the Chemex Ottomatic 2.0.
The Chemex Ottomotic is built to exactly simulate the best possible four over brew into the classic, and well designed Chemex pour over brewer that you probably already own.
Pro Tip: For those of you that do already have the needed 6 or 8 cup Chemex classic pour over maker (or 6 cup glass w/ handle), you don’t have to pay that again, as you can buy it without the Chemex.
Different Brew Modes
So you may be asking your self, 2.0? What about the first generation, what is different? Well the main thing they added with this newest generation is the ability to brew iced coffee as well.
The Ottomatic 2.0 is by no means a cheap coffee maker, and is sold at around $350 at the time of this writing. However you are buying a coffee maker from a company with years of experience, and even some coffee makers in the Museum of Modern Art.
As mentioned before, you can also save some money if you already own a Chemex 6, or 8 cup pour over.
Competitors to the Ottomatic 2.0
The closes competitors would be the Ratio Eight from this article, and the smaller Ratio Six that you can read about in this article, however both of those are more expensive but are essentially the same idea. Never thought a $350 coffee maker would be a bargain?
It isn’t a super close competitor, but the Barisieur may also be an interesting alternative, and you can read about that in my article here.
Chemex continues to create innovative, quality products in the full array needs you will have when making coffee. This is no different with the Ottomatic 2.0.
