While pickup trucks are increasingly becoming family vehicles, used for driving to soccer practice, grabbing the take-and-bake pizza, and commuting to the office, they have lost their practical purpose, which was primarily a work vehicle, with transporting people not being its primary purpose, and backseats (and doors) were not needed.
Over time, those two-door pickups have become increasingly less prevalent on the roads. However, many brands still offer them if you special order them. Brands like Ford, RAM, Chevrolet, and Toyota all still have versions of their trucks that offer the two-door design.
With that said, here are all the current pickup trucks that offer a two-door option, and at the end, I’ll even detail the ones that don’t.
1. 2023 RAM 1500 Classic
Shop Now: RAM 1500 ClassicWhile the RAM 1500 saw its fifth generation start all the way back in 2019, the fourth generation has continued to survive under Stellantis’ watch as the RAM 1500 Classic. This older truck still offers plenty of features and is one of the best deals for a full-size pickup truck, with its entry-level price being just a little over $30k.
This entry-level price also belongs specifically to the Tradesman in its two-door configuration (also called the regular cab) and two-wheel drive (the only trim it is available in). If you are looking for a brand-new truck on a budget and only need two doors, this should easily be at the top of your list.
2. 2023 Ford F-150
- Towing Capacity: 8,200 - 14,000 pounds
This pickup truck is the #1 selling vehicle in the USA right now. However, that can easily be attributed to the four-door versions of this truck (such as the SuperCrew four-door configuration). However, if you are hunting for a two-door (aka Regular Cab), you are in luck, as it can be purchased on either the XL or the XLT trim level (nothing above that).
Suppose you are looking for amenities on your F-150. In that case, you’ll have to manually add and pay for them to the configurator to enjoy things like the more powerful 5.0 Coyote engine, remote start, 360-Degree Camera, and more (of which come standard on higher trim levels).
3. 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
- Towing Capacity: 6,800 - 13,400 pounds
The Silverado is the last of the three significant, 1/2-ton pickups on the market. Not to miss out on contractors, budget-seekers, and people that don’t plan on taking anyone additional with them, offer a two-door configuration on their most significant selling pickup.
Unfortunately, this regular cab configuration can only be equipped on the WT (Work Truck) trim level, which means you can’t get a luxury, short bed, two-door truck from the bowtie brand.
That said, you can equip two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive and choose between the short or long bed. The short bed could make for a fun project, an off-road build! With an MSRP lower than $40,000, this could be a fun truck for someone on a budget.
4. 2024 Toyota Tacoma
Shop Now: Toyota TacomaIf you aim to build the ultimate short-wheelbase pickup truck, the Tacoma should be at the top of your list. With the introduction of the completely redesigned 2024 Toyota Tacoma, the brand did away with the Access Cab (which had two rear-facing doors in the back, making it a four-door truck) and replaced it with an actual two-door pickup truck build.
This leaves this truck with an impressively short wheelbase, a low entry-level price point (under $30,000, as of this writing), a smaller truck profile, and a proven reliability that no other truck can match.
While I can’t build the truck on its configurator yet, to tell you exactly what trim levels can have this setup, you can equip it throughout the truck’s profile, meaning more luxury in a smaller truck.
5. 2023 Ford F-350 Super Duty
- Towing Capacity: 21,000 - 37,000 pounds
Generally speaking, you will rarely see an F-350 with the regular cab setup. However, it is quite the sight when you do. The proportions seem off, as its height doesn’t change from stock, and with its massive grille and considerable stature, it just looks wrong.
That said, you can’t fight the fact that if you need a truck to haul large loads but want to avoid the cost or the hit to your payload capacity that the larger versions cause, the two-door F-350 is a truck’s workhorse.
Even though the regular cab variant of the F-350 can be purchased with the XL and the XLT trim level, you can still get the full array of engine choices, such as the 6.8L, 7.3L, 6.7L Diesel (and the high output version). Either way, if you need to tow, this truck with a tow rating of up to 23,900 is nothing to ignore.

Conclusion
While you may not see a regular cab pickup truck on the market today, you can easily order one from almost all manufacturers of trucks today. That said, don’t count on finding one in stock at a dealership, as you will likely need to special order it and have it custom-built for you.
Whether you are ordering it for its budget price point or a custom off-road build, the two-door truck lives on in the trucks above.
