Reviewing My Carter Everywhere Mug By Fellow Products

Reading Time: 4 minutes //  by Austin

One of my favorite products that I talked about in 2019 was the Carter Everywhere Mug by Fellow Products. In fact I ended up talking about it so much that someone bought it for me as a gift for Christmas!

So you know what that means? I get to review my favorite mug and see if it really stacks up to what I thought it would!

Let me start off by saying, it exceeded my expectations and is one of my favorite to-go mug, with only once exception, that we will discuss later.

Coffee mug with lid and held in hand
The Carter Everywhere Mug looks awesome

Below you will find different things that Fellow Product’s claims this mug is the best at, so let’s see if it’s the truth.

Aromatic Wide Mouth

Coffee just isn’t as good when you drink it out of the small opening, and most travel mugs are just that. The Carter Everywhere Mug provides an extremely wide mouth, just like your favorite mug at home.

Because it is just like your mug at home, you can still get that early morning feeling, now all you need is a newspaper.

Drinkable Thin Lip

The thin lip actually makes drinking coffee out of a to-go cup nice

This is one of my favorite aspects of the mug, which I’m sure is surprising to most.

However it is extremely great to drink from, as your bottom lip kinda rests on the mug and is extremely comfortable, and easy to drink from.

Most mugs out there have a much thicker rim. Even thicker if you are going with a travel mug.

This cuts that down, and makes it comfortable and easy to drink from.

True Taste Ceramic Coating

The Ceramic interior make coffee taste great!

Alright, so I’ll be honest, I couldn’t crazy tell the difference between the taste of Ceramic, or not on this one.

Many people swear by this, so if you are one of those people, then this is probably your best bet for a travel mug!

Brew-And-Go Compatibility

This one is just the way it is!

It is built to work with the Aeropress in mind, which you can read how to use that here.

Unfortunately I don’t have an Aeropress quite yet!

However I’m sure once I do (hopefully very soon) it will work just fine. I would be interested to know if it is still compatible with the smaller Aeropress Go version.

Heat-Lock Double Wall Vacuum

The heat lock double wall vacuum works incredibly well in my findings.

Once you seal the lid onto this to-go mug, it really keeps in that heat. The mug keeps coffee hot far longer than anyone probably needs it to be.

Having this capability can have its upsides and downsides though.

If you don’t cool down the coffee with some milk or creamer beforehand, you will probably need to leave the lid off for a bit just to get it to drinking temperature.

The upside is, if you are going skiing, or just out on the town, this mug will keep your coffee warm through pretty much your whole day.

Leak- Proof Seal

Leak Proof Lid
The Leak Proof Lid really works

The leak proof seal on this mug works as advertised, no leaks, no matter what.

So many to-go mugs out there are drip resistant or the like. This mug really stands up to it, and is leak proof from what I can find. You can shake it, keep it on its side with no problems.

You can’t go wrong with this one if you need something that is leak-proof.

I mentioned there was something I didn’t like, what was that again?

After spending a decent amount of time with this mug, there was only one thing I did not like about the usability of it.

It doesn’t have a way to access the contents other than unscrewing the cap, which makes it extremely difficult to drink your coffee while driving a vehicle.

I found that I didn’t feel like I quite had enough time to take off the cap, even when I was at stoplights. With the need for two hands to safely take the cap off, it isn’t great for this usage.

You also won’t want to be leaving the cap off while driving, because the opening in the top is just large and will splash out if you take a hard turn, or hit a pothole.

Pros

  • Looks great
  • Great quality
  • Keeps coffee hot for long periods of time
  • People will want one when they see it
  • Works for both home, and on the go

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Not great for use while driving

Who is this for?

The Carter Everywhere Mug is perfect for really anyone that enjoys coffee, and wants the best experience possible.

It is great for in the office, on the ski slope, walking around town, talking to your friends about how awesome your mug is, and more.

I personally will recommend this to anyone that is willing to pay the $30ish price point.

That brings me to who this is not for!

It isn’t for people that aren’t willing to pay more than $5 a mug.

There isn’t really anything wrong with that, but it just wouldn’t be for them.

It also wouldn’t be great for anyone that drives for a living. Drive safe, and don’t be distracted!

Conclusion

Fellow Products continues to impress me with their quality, availability of products, and their innovation. They seem to really pay attention to the market, and find ways to improve it in every product they make.

I would recommend this mug, and really anything they make.

If you want to learn more about some of the coffee accessories they make, I have written about their Prismo here, the Monte Mug here, and their Atmost Canister here.
