Klean Kanteen created my new favorite camp mug in the Rise Mug! However, is the Tumbler (travel mug) version just as good, and has it replaced my Yeti Rambler? That is what we are going to talk about in this article!
Why should you trust me? I enjoy coffee mugs too much. My mugs continue to take up more of our kitchen cabinet space, and I regularly have to cut them down to keep up. I also enjoy finding the right mug that works for me. I am sharing my experience with the Rise Tumbler, so you can decide if it works for you! Want to learn more about my process? Read more about it here.
Please Note: This Rise Tumbler was sent out to me by the brand to take a look at! Coverage of the product was not required; however, I wanted to let you know my thoughts!
What is Klean Kanteen Rise Tumbler?
- Capacity: 16 ounces
- Construction: 18/8 Stainless Steel
- Dishwasher Safe: Yes
- The capacity is perfect
- My favorite styling of any tumbler
- The wide mouth is great to drink from
- High-quality tumbler
- The wide mouth causes spills
The Klean Kanteen Rise Tumbler is the travel mug version of the company’s newest lineup of drinkware. While I reviewed the 16-ounce version (my preferred size), they also offer the mug in a 26-ounce version. This high-quality and impressively styled coffee mug should work well for those who live an active lifestyle or hope to take their coffee to work to avoid drinking nasty office coffee.
Who is this product for?
If you are hunting for a Tumbler (aka Travel Mug or To-Go Mug) that looks different from all the rest on the block (the ones copying Yeti), then the Rise Tumbler might be a fantastic option for you. It does a great job of keeping coffee hot, its new colors are all unique, and the paint is high-quality for sure.
That said, you should take a pass if you need a Tumber that can be used while driving. While having a broader mouth on the lid is excellent in most instances, I found that it splashes around your mouth too often and causes spills while you drive.
How did I test this product?
One of my favorite things to do with products I review is to put them into my daily life. Regarding coffee mugs, this Rise Tumbler is placed in my coffee cabinet alongside all the rest of my mugs. I am always interested to see which one I grab first! In this instance, I like to see which coffee mug I use when I want to take my coffee to go.
What did I like about this product?

1. The capacity is perfect.
While this isn’t necessarily specific to this Rise Tumbler, I have to give them props for offering it in this 16-ounce size. This capacity is perfect for me.
While it still can contain a reasonably sized cup of joe, it does it in a much more compact container than others. If you like to make a 12-ounce cup of coffee and add milk without filling it to the brim, a 16-ounce like this will be perfect for you.
2. My favorite styling of any tumbler
Most to-go mugs follow the more industrial and metallic style to compete with the big name (Yeti). It was a breath of fresh air to receive this Tumbler in the mail to see that it was different than the rest and quickly set itself apart from the rest of the mugs.
If you are looking for the right color, I prefer the Autumn Glaze color found on my Rise Mug, but this color, called “Stellar,” is an awesome duo-toned blue.

3. The wide mouth is great to drink from
While this wide mouth can cause some issues (we’ll talk about that later), it presents a very comfortable drinking experience. The lip of the lid is much more rounded than the competition, which makes it softer on your mouth, and overall more comfortable.
4. High-quality tumbler
There are too many cheap and unuseful travel mugs on the market, and this isn’t one of them. Everything about the tumbler itself is made of high-quality materials. The paint doesn’t chip or fade; the tumbler is made of 18/8 stainless steel and is entirely dishwasher safe. The only complaint in this department is that the lid feels cheaper than the rest of the tumbler.

What did I NOT like about this product?
The wide mouth causes spills. While I like that this coffee tumbler offers a broader mouth than other competitors, as it just feels better to drink from, it also presents its one drawback. I have found that this wider mouth results in coffee spilling around your mouth while drinking, particularly while you are driving. This is an unfortunate side-effect of a fantastic feature.
Has the Rise Tumbler changed over the years?
The Rise lineup of drinkware is brand new for Klean Kanteen! They do sell other lines of coffee-capable drinkware in their TKWide mugs; however, this is an entirely different style of drinkware, and the new Rise line of mugs is all-new for them.
Conclusion
While I find myself reaching for my Yeti Rambler more often when I leave, as I usually drive, this Rise Tumbler is a fantastic addition to my cabinets. It looks better, has a more excellent feel on the mouth, and feels better in your hand than the Yeti. The only thing holding it back for me is that it just doesn’t work well for driving.
