Best In Gear Buying Guide For 2020

A Man And His Gear is all about finding some of the best men’s gear! Every once in a while we’ll test something that we just can’t stop talking about, using, or recommending. Whenever we find something like that, it makes it onto this list!

This list of best gear includes names like Aeropress, Vaultek, and BioLite! There isn’t any specific category, but this can easily be used as a buying guide for men’s birthdays, father’s day, Christmas, and really any other holiday that you are looking to buy some awesome gifts for a guy!

Table of Contents
  • 1. Aeropress Go
  • 2. Prismo by Fellow Products
  • 3. KeySmart Rugged
  • 4. Vaultek VT10i
  • 5. ForeverSpin
  • 6. Snapsafe Titan XXL
  • 7. Issue Box
  • 8. Carter Everywhere Mug
  • 9. Lego Technic Corvette
  • 10. BioLite Headlamp 200
  • 11. American Press
  • Conclusion

1. Aeropress Go

Before Aeropress sent me out the Aeropress Go, I had an automatic coffee maker sitting on my counter. After spending a month or so with the Aeropress go, I didn’t anymore. That is just how good the Aeropress Go is.

If you are looking for an inexpensive coffee maker, and want your coffee to taste great, and clean. This is the best coffee maker you can find.

2. Prismo by Fellow Products

As a follow up to the Aeropress Go above, if you want to use your Aeropress, but don’t want a clean cup of coffee and prefer a little bit of grit in there, the Prismo is an attachment for the Aeropress that gives you a more espresso-like experience.

My recommendation? Buy both, and alternate between the standard Aeropress Experience, and the Aeropress with the Prismo. Both ways give you awesome coffee.

3. KeySmart Rugged

If this list was specific to products that I use the most, this would be at the top of the list by far. The KeySmart Rugged houses my keys, and my pocket knife in an extremely nice and easy to use package.

I have used KeySmart products for years, but highly enjoy the Rugged version for its belt clip, and thicker metal construction. It’s definitely worth the little extra money over the original version.

4. Vaultek VT10i

Vaultek VT10i with accessories

Looking for a little security in your life? The Vaultek VT10i is my favorite all-around pistol (handgun) safe. You can use as much technology as you want, or as little as you want.

That said, if you want to use all the technology, that includes smartphone tamper notifications and the ability to open it with your phone. It has a keypad, biometric access, standard key and more.

5. ForeverSpin

If you are looking for an awesome gift for someone that has a desk job like me, the ForeverSpin spinning tops are awesome for that.

They look awesome, are soothing, spin for a really long time, and are a lot of fun!

I really enjoy mine that sits on my desk!

6. Snapsafe Titan XXL

If the Vaultek VT10i we talked about earlier just isn’t quite large enough, we can go to the other side of the spectrum! The Snapsafe Titan XXL is a special safe in the industry, as it is a modular gun safe that can be easily put into apartments, basements and more.

At 9 gauge steel (combination of 2 layers) it also offers a great steel to price ratio.

7. Issue Box

The Issue Box looks great from any angle.

No, no, no it is not a Tissue Box (however it does double as one), this is the Issue Box. Whenever you have an issue you have access to whatever is inside.

That can be a knife, firearm, or even just a Snickers bar. Want a good conversation starter, or a gift? This is it.

See Price: Issue Box

8. Carter Everywhere Mug

Ahh the Carter Everywhere Mug! This is my favorite to-go mug out there right now. It offers some awesome features, looks great, is easy to drink from, and most people think it’s a speaker.

Alright, so maybe that last one isn’t a selling point, but still, I think it’s funny.

See Price: Carter Everywhere Mug

9. Lego Technic Corvette

If you don’t know what Lego Technic is, you should look it up. If you are a car fan, you should be buying these, period.

This C7 Corvette Lego Technic kit is a ton of fun, reasonably easy to put together but not too easy that it isn’t fun, and of course it looks awesome on the shelf.

See Price: Lego Corvette

10. BioLite Headlamp 200

I really like this headlamp, and you should too! If you have never owned a headlamp before, or a good one at that, it is revolutionary!

This Biolite Headlamp is perfect for hiking, going camping, or even finding your cat when he runs out at night! Yes, I have done each of these using the headlamp.

As a side note, neighbors may think you are weird walking around at night in the neighborhood yelling with a light on your head. Who cares though.

11. American Press

If you don’t like the Aeropress for some reason, this is my next favorite coffee maker! It is nearly as easy to use as the Aeropress, and makes considerably better coffee than even the more expensive automatic coffee makers.

It also is incredibly easy to clean, and it’s a lot of fun to watch it brew, due to its unique design.

Conclusion

This list is an awesome central way to know what gear I recommend for any holiday! I hope that you are able to find some awesome gear based on what my experiences are with these products.

I’ll make sure to keep this as up to date as possible! I’m sure the list will grow.
