Vault doors are for those who need a panic room, a gun room because they have too many guns to fit in gun safes, or some people even use them as storm doors.
These doors can range from being formed from 12 gauge steel all the way up to 1/2″ steel or more!
You will see these doors being built by companies like Vault Pro, Ft Knox, Browning, Rhino, Liberty, and even Snapsafe all ranging in features and prices.
There are two different types of general vault doors. There are in-swing which are meant for storm doors, as they can swing inward to allow for it to still open when debris is in front of it. Then there is a the out-swing door, these you will generally find on vault rooms.
Why do I think that vault doors are important?
- Vault doors provide a level of security that normal safes can’t, as they can block off rooms, or better yet a part of a house.
- These can be mounted to many different types of walls, or can be poured into place when building a dream home.
- All vault doors will have a an interior latch to unlock the door. This allows for a vault room to be used as a safe room
- If you just have too many guns, vault door is the best answer.
