We all have coffee preferences, but does coffee type matter? Espresso coffee is a more concentrated form of coffee that is made from finely ground coffee beans. Drip coffee, on the other hand, is brewed using a filter and water. In this article, we will discuss if espresso or drip coffee tastes better and which one you should be making at home!

What does espresso taste like?

Espresso coffee is known for its strong and intense flavor. It has a slightly bitter taste but can also be sweet and smooth. This coffee is perfect if you want a caffeine boost as it contains more caffeine than drip coffee.

With espresso coffee, you also get a crema on top which is a layer of foam that forms on the surface. I like the taste of espresso coffee and find it to be more flavorful than drip coffee.

You will generally find espresso used in drinks like cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, flat whites, and more where it is combined with milk and foam. These coffee drinks are very popular and I highly recommend giving them a try!

What does drip coffee taste like?

Drip coffee is coffee that is made by passing hot water through coffee grounds. It has a lighter coffee taste and can be either stronger or weaker depending on how much coffee is used.

This coffee is perfect if you want to drink it black or add your flavorings such as milk, cream, and sugar. I like drip coffee as it is less bitter than espresso coffee, but if you want a more intense coffee flavor then espresso might be a better choice for you.

You will generally find drip coffee used in drinks like Americanos, black coffee, and more. These coffee drinks are simple and delicious!

Which one do I like better, espresso or drip coffee?

Both espresso and drip coffee have their unique flavors and benefits. I like the taste of espresso coffee better as it is more intense and flavorful, but if you want a lighter coffee flavor then drip coffee would be a better choice for you.

Whichever coffee type you decide to make at home, I guarantee that you will love the taste.

Conclusion

In conclusion, coffee type does matter as espresso coffee is more flavorful and stronger than drip coffee which has a lighter coffee flavor. If you prefer an intense coffee flavor, then espresso coffee is the better choice for you. However, if you want a simpler coffee taste then drip coffee would be a better option. Both coffee types are delicious and I recommend trying both!
