If I had to choose any specific coffee accessory company that I like best, it is hands down Fellow Products.
They are exactly the perfect mixture of style, and function that I like.
In this case, these tasting glasses come in a set of two 10oz mugs.

2. Chemex Double Wall Mug

These double walled glass mugs from Chemex just make me happy.
Their design follows the styling cues of their pour over coffee makers with the hourglass shape.
However they are held like a normal glass, but have a very cool interior to the glass.
This design gives it a feel like the coffee is floating inside of the glass.
I will say, I’m not sure how easy this design makes it to clean the mug though.
Although, it should be more than worth the buy.

3. Chemex Glass Mug

Didn’t quite like the double walled version of this mug? Did you want a handle?
The standard Chemex Glass Mug might be the better solution for you.
It has the same exact 10 ounce capacity, is still made of borosilicate glass, and still looks great.
To learn more, I also have this article I wrote about this mug here.
Keep in mind though, this coffee mug doesn’t come with a double wall construction, meaning it won’t retain heat quite as well as its double wall brother.
It also has a thinner handle, that has a good possibility of breaking if you are rough on your mugs like I am.
Specifications
- Borosilicate glass construction
- 10 ounce capacity
- Angled interior walls
- Angled lip
Pros
- Chemex Quality
- Very cool look
- Angled lip

11. KeepCup Brew Cork Tempered Glass

This is one of the most unique glass mugs on this list.
Why? Because it offers a to-go coffee mug in a glass construction.

It blends a cork sleeve, with a glass mug, and a plastic lid to create something you could use at home, and in the car on the go.
At a 12 ounce capacity, it should work for really anyone out there! Many other glass mugs out there right now tend to have a smaller capacity.

What to look for when buying a glass mug
Who knew there were so many different things to think about when buying just a coffee mug right? Well, there is! Here are the different things you will want to consider.
Single, or double walled
As I am sure you have seen throughout this article, there are three different directions manufacturers take when making a glass mug. They can be a single wall, double wall, or a mixture of both single and double wall.
I personally like the double wall construction, with a single wall lip. This allows for your fingers to not get burned from the liquid, and also allows the drink to stay warm longer.
Coffee Capacity
I have found that glass coffee mugs tend to stay to the smaller capacity size. I believe this is because glass mugs tend to be used by espresso drinkers, and people that prefer to enjoy the taste of coffee, over drinking an abundance of coffee.
Curved or straight sides
I know there are many different reasons to have different shaped interiors of glass mugs. My personal main reason I look at this is for spillage.
I have found that curved interiors of mugs tend to allow for the coffee to easily spill out of the mug, meanwhile straight sided mugs will keep the coffee on the interior of the mug.
Lip of the mug
Didn’t know that mugs have different styles of lips? Well they do.
For the most part, most mugs have your standard lip that is straight. The interior of the mug comes to a point at the top and that is it.
However some mugs out there have what you would refer to as a flared lip.
Flared lips add another portion of the mug that makes it so the coffee bypasses your lip, and pours the coffee directly into your mouth. This creates and extremely comfortable, and great way of drinking coffee.
This personally is my favorite type of lip.
Dishwasher safe
Glass dishes can be difficult to wash, many cannot be used in a dishwasher, and you should be aware of this when buying a glass coffee mug.
You should also think about if the mug can be used in an oven, microwave, and even if they can be put into a freezer without the worry of damaging it.
Pros of a glass mug
- Extremely nice aesthetically
- I like how they feel
- You can see the coffee in the glass
- A fun experience
Cons of a glass mug
- Glass doesn’t maintain heat as well as ceramic
- More breakable
- While most are dishwasher safe, it does lower the life of the glass mug
Glass Coffee Mug FAQ
Coffee tasting glasses are a special type of coffee mug that are meant more about getting the taste out of coffee, rather than volume. Because of this, they tend to take a unique shape, generally with a flared lip, and smaller design. Many times, they have a tall top portion of the cup to lock in the aroma of the coffee.
This really is debated in the coffee industry, and to be completely honest, from what I have found, ceramic is overall a better type of coffee mug. However, like we talked about earlier in this article, there are a lot of great reasons to use a glass coffee mug, including the aesthetics, and the fun factor. Just because something isn’t the best thing, doesn’t make it the wrong thing. I personally like having both ceramic and glass available.
Yes, yes you can*. Yes, you saw that right, there is an asterisk. That is there, because you need to make sure it is made to handle hot drinks. As I am sure you are highly aware, heat can break glass, so you need to make sure whatever glass mug you are putting coffee into can actually handle coffee. The list above gives quite a few great examples of mugs that would work perfectly for you.
Most people will argue that coffee actually tastes better out of ceramic. However the tasting glasses that I have found (and are specifically made for the flavor) are made of glass. Most people won’t notice the difference just based on what the mug is made of, but I do think they will notice the experience. Buy whatever you think you would enjoy most!
So I wasn’t expecting to write about this, except while I was writing this article, I accidentally broke one of my glass mugs by using my Aeropress. This made me sad… as I really like using the Aeropress with my glass mugs, but oh well. If you have an Aeropress, and want to use it with a glass mug, I would recommend you purchase an Aeropress stand here. That way the pressure is on the stand, and not on the glass mug itself.
So you noticed the hole in the bottom of your glass mug? There are two reasons that this exists. Firstly, it is a byproduct of the mug being made. Secondly, its function is to release pressure in the double walled mugs.
What other types of mugs should you consider?
Ceramic mugs
When I am not using a glass mug, I am using a ceramic mug. More specifically I am using the Starbucks Reserve Mug that I will link below, but also a really nice black ceramic mug from Target that you will find here.
To-Go Mugs
Of course, if you are wanting to go the complete opposite direction of a glass mug. You can buy a great to-go mug as well!
I might recommend you take a look at the Carter Everywhere Mug that I reviewed here.
Conclusion
Owning the right cup is great is imperative to really enjoying your coffee! If none of these glass mugs quite work for you, I actually wrote another article where I detail the best mugs I have found right here.
Do you have a favorite glass coffee mug that I missed? Make sure to leave it in the comments and let me know why you like it so much.
