Bull bars are something you will find on many trucks and SUVs out there today! Mainly because they help out with keeping brush away from scratching your bumper, but when offroading, they also will aid in keeping rocks away from the underside of your truck.
Bull Bars, also known as pull bars or grille guard, is generally a metal device that attaches to the underside of your front bumper and then wraps up over the bumper, and in front of the grille.
Some bull bars allow for LED light bars to be attached, others are extremely simple, and straight forward. Some are built to be stylish, and others to just be utilitarian.
These are the top choices I have found while shopping around!
1. Rough Country Bull Bar
As my top choice, we have the Rough Country Bull Bar. It is an awesome all-around bull bar that offers an LED light bar built into the unit (yes it’s included), as well as a satin black finish.
For those that have to have a license plate in the front, this bull bar does come with mounting points directly on it.
The bar part of this Bull Bar is made of 3” steel tubing, which should be good enough for really any vehicle!

2. Westin Contour 3.5 Bull Bar
This Westin Contour 3.5 Bull bar is an extremely simple design, and is meant really as more of a push bar. It doesn’t really have any shielding on the bottom for rocks and debris, however it makes up for it by keeping things simple.
This would be great for those that are just looking to keep damage away from the bumper, but don’t plan on doing much off-roading in their vehicle.

3. Lund Bull Bar w/Light And Wiring
This Lund Bull bar is really similar to the Rough Country version we discussed above! It has a bit of a different slotted bottom, however still very similar.
It of course also comes with an LED light bar. Which honestly, if I were purchasing this or any bull bar, would be a big plus for me.
No having to deal with drilling to install something as simple as an LED light bar is an awesome advantage.

4. Rough Country Stainless Steel Bull Bar w/ Integrated Black Series 20-inch LED Light Bar
If you just can’t get away from the chrome design on your truck, and just want to show it off, this is the bull bar for you!
This fully chrome design is really the only thing that sets this unit apart from the number one choice we talked about at the top of this article!
That said, it does add around $20. But what is that when you can have this much chrome.

5. ARIES AdvantEDGE Bull Bar
The Aries Advantedge Bull bar is probably the one that is rather different than the rest on this list. It features an extremely blocky style, that includes square 4 led light pods on either side of the unit.
This would be a great bull bar if you plan on creating an overlanding style of rig!

6. TAC Predator Mesh Version Modular Bull Bar
This is an extremely cool looking bull bar! With its more angular style, it definitely stands out, and should look really cool on the truck you are building.
It also is on the less expensive end of bull bars on this list so far! I will say I am not extremely familiar with TAC, however with a part like this, it shouldn’t be too big of a deal.

7. Velocity Concepts Matte Black Solid Edge Bold Series Bull Bar
If you wish the Rough Country bull bar at the top of this list had more angles, this is the one you need! With very similar styling to the aforementioned bull bar, but with angles, it really stands out.
Unfortunately it doesn’t come equipped with an LED light bar, but you do save some cost because of that.

How are bull bars different from off-road bumpers?
During this article, you may be asking yourself why you wouldn’t just get a full upgraded off-road bumpers.
As you probably know, an off-road bumper completely replaces your front or rear bumper, while the bull bar only goes over top.
If you aren’t looking to make a dramatic change in the look, weight or usability of your truck, the bull bar is probably your choice.
However if you do true off-roading, and plan on going high speeds through brush, it probably would be best to go with the more expensive off-road bumpers.
How much do bull bars cost?
As you have likely seen in this article, a bull bar can be found for a really decent price. However they can range all the way from around $150, up to $700 depending on the brand, quality, and the retailer you buy it from.
Conclusion
If you are looking to change up the front end of your vehicle, a bull bar is a great way to do it. They look extremely cool, and also help with the usability of your vehicle!
Having a Bull Bar is awesome, but another great accessory would be a truck bed organizer.
