When it comes to my gear, it is no secret that I like to own items that I use on a daily basis. Whether it be key organizers, safes, computers and more. However, there is one thing that I use constantly inside, and outside that is incredibly important, and that would be my shoes.

I have been using Deckers X Lab shoes on a daily basis for a little over 7 months now, whether that be their Deckers x Lab X-Scape (review here) or their X Lab KO-Z SNPR Low and Mid (review here), I have enjoyed every moment of it.

That said, over the past couple of weeks, I have had the chance to test out one of their newest additions to their inventory, and that would be the KO-Z EZ CABRIO. So let’s go through what this shoe is, what I like about it, and what I don’t like about it, and then we will discuss exactly who this shoe is for.

This shoe caters heavily towards people that want true slippers that can also be used outside. It allows you to wear the shoe like clogs by easily pushing the back of the shoe downwards, however you can quickly raise the back of the shoe over your heal with a single motion. This shoe is high quality, extremely comfortable, and is a shoe I am wearing all throughout the day right now.

  • I wish it looked a bit more like a normal shoe

What do I like about it?

1. Extremely comfortable, and supportive sole with memory foam

One of the most important aspects of any shoe for me is comfort, as my feet have a tendancy to hurt quite a bit when in the wrong shoe. All Deckers X Lab shoes so far have been perfect for my feet and this one is no different.

Mixing the sheep’s wool fur lining (mixed with some polyester) keeps your feet warm in the winter, and cool in the summer (yes, I wear these in the summer). The memory foam, and interior supports allow for all-day comfort (unlike most slippers). And the soft rear heel support keeps your feet in place when you want, and not slipping around.

2. Easy to take on and off

Some shoes take a long time to put on, and take off. This isn’t that shoe. With the convertible heel on this shoe, you can easily slip the shoe on without having to even bend down. However, if you want the additional support, it is one quick motion to pull it up over your heel.

You can also forget shoe laces, as these don’t have any.

3. You can wear it like a slipper (slip on and off), or as a shoe

If you are on the hunt for a slipper, where you can also use it as a daily shoe, this is it! While it looks primarily like a slipper, its support, and its performance-style sole, allow you to use the shoe anywhere you would need it. I really do like the new sole’s the Deckers X Lab is putting on their shoes, as they give a bit better grip on the ground, and they don’t pick up rocks like they used to.

What don’t I like about it?

1. Styled heavily like a slipper

The KO-Z EZ CABRIO is definitely a slipper-first design. While this is perfect for those who want to purchase this specifically for being a slipper at home, it unfortunately does make it a bit more awkward wearing them outside of the home. I wish its design was a bit more like their KO-Z SNPR Low, just with the updated sole, and the convertible rear of the shoe.

That said, I really do like the design of the shoe, and will likely use these as normal shoes after my KO-Z SNPR Mid’s wear out (they are my daily shoes right now).

Who is this shoe for?

Deckers X Lab shoes aren’t for everyone! If you are in a professional environment, need something more athletic, or you just don’t like the comfortable look, then you probably will want to shy away from this brand as a whole.

However, if you are someone that enjoys extreme comfort, warm feet throughout the day, and enjoy the fur and comfort styling of these shoes, you should definitely give them a try. I am a Deckers X Lab kind of person, and won’t look back.

Conclusion

While these shoes may not be for everyone, these KO-Z EZ CABRIO shoes by Deckers X Lab are some of my favorite’s right now. They are high quality, extremely comfortable, and I have absolutely no problem wearing them all day (in fact, I am wearing them while I write this article). If these are a bit too much like slippers for your taste, you should also check out their other shoes.
