YETI is one of the biggest manufacturers of to-go style drinkware on the market today! They are also one of my favorites as well, and I own quite a few myself including a water bottle, Tumbler, and a mug. However, the ease of cleaning them is one of the biggest upsides of YETI Drinkware ownership for me.
All YETI Mugs, Tumblers, Can Coolers, and even Water Bottles are completely dishwasher safe. This includes the drinkware itself, but also all other components including the caps, magsliders, straws, and more. While there are best practices to make sure each item gets clean in your dishwasher, all components can easily be cleaned in one.

All of the YETI water bottles (and Jugs) are dishwasher safe! Thankfully, not only is the base unit safe to be washed in a dishwasher, but you can easily wash the chug cap that comes with it as well.
I would generally recommend washing the chug cap (or any other accessory like the Bottle Straw Cap that I upgraded to recently), on the top rack of your dishwasher.
Meanwhile, the bottle itself will be right at home on the bottom shelf of your dishwasher without any issues!
No matter what size YETI coffee mug you own, you can rest assured that it is dishwasher safe. The base coffee mug does well on the top or bottom shelf of the dishwasher.
However, make sure to take special care of your MagSlider Lid, as you want to make sure that you disassemble the lid (which is very easy) and put the components somewhere caged.
If you have one of those small 3rd shelves up top, that is a great place to put it. Alternatively, putting the lid on the standard top shelf, and placing the magnet on your silverware shelf will do quite well.

Just like the coffee mugs, the YETI Rambler Tumblers are all completely dishwasher-safe. I will generally place my Tumbler on the bottom shelf of the dishwasher, and separate the lid on the top shelf, and the MagSlider on our third shelf, or inside of the silverware cage.
I have not seen any wear and tear to my Tumbler at all! However, over the years of ownership, I have noticed that my MagSlider lid is starting to wear a bit, which I attribute to being used in the dishwasher.
Much like every other YETI on this list, the Can Coolers are even dishwasher-safe! The best way to handle this is to unscrew the top portion of the cooler, place both components on the top shelf of your dishwasher and let it go. No problem!
Drinkware Accessories
All of the accessories sold by YETI for their drinkware are dishwasher-safe! Here are the best ways to get them the cleanest possible.
- Tumbler Straw Lid – To put this lid in the dishwasher, place the lid itself on the top shelf, and make sure the straw is placed in your silverware section and is upright.
- Bottle Chug Cap – Disassemble the Chug Cap into its two components, and place it flat on the top shelf of your dishwasher.
- MagSlider Lid – Place the lid itself on the top shelf, and the MagSlider lid in the silverware cage.
- Bottle Straw Cap – Extend out the straw portion of the lid, and place it on the top shelf. Put the straw itself in the silverware cage (facing vertically).
- Bottle HotShot Cap – Open the cap, and place it on the top shelf of your dishwasher!
It should be noted, you will want to regularly remove the gaskets from the lids above, and clean them on their own in the silverware cage.
Conclusion
All YETI drinkware, including mugs, tumblers, can coolers and more are dishwasher safe. While there are specific ways to make sure they stay the cleanest, this feature makes it incredibly easy to maintain your YETI to keep it for years to come.
